Miss you Pop

Sorry we cant be there with you to say goodbye on Friday. Our thoughts will be with you and Granny.

This was your 60th wedding anniversary in 2005. It was not only a chance to celebrate the day but also flirt with the ladies at the next table!

My main memories of you will be taking me on a mystery adventure when I was young, starting with a lettuce you were given, we would goto the bakery in Sleaford and swap it for a cake, then off to the club where it would be swapped for a packet of cigars – off somewhere else where it would be swapped again and again whilst chatting with your friends until, by the end of the day we had a cordless phone or a microwave!

Maybe the time when you pretended to drive into the 40foot drain so I would scream (I was only 4 or 5) then you couldn`t reverse the car and we would have to walk 5 miles home in the rain.

Or when Rachael or Jo stuck a toy plunger to your head at Christmas and you had a red mark for 2 weeks.

Glad you could make it to our wedding – lots of love

Foxy

This fox comes to our house most nights -When Eddie barks from 3 feet at it, it just sits down and licks its paws.

2006 has arrived and has taken off with a steady start for us. John is now working more normal hours and we have had a chance to go out a bit more. Last weekend we went to Lancelin for a suring lesson which was really good fun and a great way to burn off some Christmas Calories!! We hope to go again next weekend and also plan to catch up with a couple who John met when he was out here last time 2yrs ago. They are on a farm about 45mins drive away and have a couple of young kids.
Cyclone Clare created some excitement at the end of last week giving some areas half their annual rainful in 24hrs. Luckily by the time it reach us the wind had dropped but we still got the rain. It was a catagory 3 storm when it hit the coast up north.
The dogs are doing well although its predicted to get much hotter this coming week so I hope they cope ok. Keita is now as tall as Eddie but I think he will always remain the boss! I don’t think she is going to make much af a guard dog, she is very soggy!

This is the River Avon at Toodyay, further down river it becomes the River Swan which is the large river that runs through Perth. I took this pic on New Years day when we went out for a drive through Toodyay, Northam and York.

This sunset was a few nights ago and the clouds are due to Cyclone Clare of which we got the tail end.
